Great minds don’t always think alike.
So, at Bingenuity.com you may hear from a few of our folks, including:
Nick Gaskins, executive director and owner
Nick has more than 20 years of experience as a designer/art director on national and international accounts, including NCR, Teradata, Huntington Banks, McDonald’s, Antioch University, and Drew Shoe Corporation.
After graduating from Ohio University with a degree in journalism, Nick freelanced and spent four years with two of the largest ad agencies in the Columbus, Ohio market. His unique combination of writing and design skills caught the attention of Bob Bingenheimer, who brought Nick to Yellow Springs as a possible successor for Bingenheimer Design. The transition took place in 2000, and today Nick oversees a talented staff of print and electronic designers, project managers and marketing professionals.
When not at Bing, you’ll find Nick on the sidelines of hockey games and swim meets. Or cruising the waters of Lake Erie.
Roger Starnes, multi-media designer and web developer
Roger has 19 years of print and online experience producing work for print, web, trade shows, demonstrations, and outdoor signage for clients. He has worked with corporations such as Teradata, Lexis-Nexis, Iams, and Reynolds & Reynolds, done billboard work with Lamar Outdoor, and done theme park work with King’s Island, and others like Dayton Wire Wheel and Boonshoft Museum of Discovery. Small and large he’s worked on nearly all things that need creativity.
Roger graduated from the School of Advertising Art in 1990, and has worked at several area agencies across the Miami Valley. He has been with Bing Design for over 5 years.
When not making cool things at work, Roger and his family call their farm in Wilmington home, and roam southern Ohio in pursuit of recreation and visiting family.
Joyce Jones, production manager
Joyce has more than 35 years of experience in print production. As the primary agency contact for vendors and suppliers Joyce requests estimates for printing and production services working closely with print partners to obtain solutions and make recommendations for the best possible outcome of the final piece.
Because of her background and understanding of file organization, she also provides support to the designers (i.e., prepare initial layouts, make revisions, provide PDF drafts, etc.)
When not at Bing, Joyce volunteers for Mended Little Hearts, teaches deep-water aerobics at the Beavercreek YMCA, and tries to keep up with her families ever changing schedules.

Melissa,
Tell us more about your experiences. What would a fifth grade class like to know about Beijing through your eyes? I have forwarded your blog to the 5th grade class at Okatie Elementary School, Okatie, SC. (Okatie near Bluffton which is 14 miles from Hilton Head)
A friend of your mother’s who now lives in South Carolina and who will intern at Okatie Elementary later this month.

Hi Melissa. What an amazing adventure you’re having! I’ve been watching the games on TV with great enthusiasm, but you must be able to FEEL the energy more directly.
If you get a little homesick, know that a piece of Yellow Springs, OH, has followed you to Beijing. My company (YSI) has installed a water quality monitoring buoy outside the Bird’s Nest.
